Cardiologist

Mersey Heart is a cardiology practice established in Devonport in 2021 by Dr Greg Hasking. This growing region, with a population of about 45,000 people, had been without a local cardiac service for several years. Since its inception, the practice has grown rapidly, and we are now ready to welcome another cardiologist to our team. We have a modern unit available for short-term accommodation while you secure your own. Devonport is serviced directly by the Spirit of Tasmania ferry and major airlines, making travel convenient. The town offers a good range of services and shopping and is close to the attractions of Northwest and Central Tasmania. Launceston, the major city of northern Tasmania, is an hour away via the Bass Highway. Both Devonport and Launceston have good schools and recreational facilities. Mersey Heart is committed to practising with integrity, high technical standards, and respect for patients, carers, and staff. We provide consultations and a full range of non-invasive diagnostic services for the community, as well as echocardiography for inpatients at the Mersey Community Hospital. In addition to his work at Mersey Heart, Dr Hasking is a Visiting Cardiologist at Launceston General Hospital, the major referral hospital for northern Tasmania. Dr Hasking’s main clinical interests are heart failure and echocardiography.
