Chief Executive Officer – Architects Accreditation Council of Australia (AACA)
- Full time | Sydney CBD office | Hybrid work environment
- 190,000 plus Superannuation
- Governance & Risk: Lead corporate governance and risk management, ensuring AACA's goals are met by identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks within the social, political, environmental, and economic contexts.
- Financial Management: Oversee staff, resources, and finances, including budgeting, procurement, and reporting. Align business plans with the strategic plan, driving revenue growth through effective and appropriate competency-based assessment programs on the path to registration as an architect.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with and build meaningful relationships with key stakeholders, including architect registration boards, government bodies, education programs, industry organisations, and international regulators.
- Advocacy: Work with stakeholders to raise awareness of registration pathways, emphasise the value of registration, and address barriers to increase demand for registered architects.
- Industry Research & Development: Develop consistent, high-quality data on the architecture profession, focusing on demographics, skill application, and market needs to support informed decision-making.
- International Relationships: Strengthen global networks, maintain international agreements for qualification recognition, and promote knowledge-sharing on regulatory best practices.
- People Leadership: Empower, support, and develop the team, leading by example to ensure consistent service delivery and sustainable growth.
- Support the regulatory framework of architects and architectural education, and create meaningful change alongside creative, intelligent, and passionate industry professionals.
- Lead a small, yet impactful, team dedicated to providing outstanding services.

- CEO or senior management experience in industry organisations, regulation, government, professional education, or statutory boards, and an understanding of standards and assessment in the architecture profession, will be highly regarded.
- Expertise in national accreditation, ensuring educational standardisation, and maintaining quality and consistency across professional standards.
- A curious and strategic mindset with sound judgment, adept at resolving complex business challenges, navigating stakeholder impacts and competing priorities, and approaching challenges with professionalism and empathy.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to synthesise complex information and effectively engage with diverse stakeholders, including government, higher education, industry representatives, and international regulators.
- Strong business and financial acumen with expertise in budgeting and reporting, system optimisation, and enhancing operational efficiency.
