Chief Financial Officer

This is a full time, permanent residential position living and working in Alice Springs, Central Australia. We are managing a national talent search and relocation assistance will be available for the successful candidate, where applicable. Tangentyere Council Aboriginal Corporation (TCAC) is a community controlled Public Benevolent Institution delivering human services and social enterprise activities for the benefit of Aboriginal people from the Alice Springs Town Camps, Urban Alice Springs, and Central Australia.

Position Overview

The Chief Financial Officer will be responsible for managing the financial affairs and the development and implementation of financial strategies, policies and plans to ensure the continuing financial health of the Tangentyere Group and affiliated entities.

Key Responsibilities

1. Ensure best practice policy in financial management.
2. Provide authoritative advice based on extensive experience and tertiary study in accounting or commerce.
3. Manage corporate and government financial systems and relationships.
4. Prepare and interpret financial reports and manage budgets.
5. Develop and implement relevant policies and procedures.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have:

1. A thorough knowledge of corporate and government financial systems.
2. Superior management and organisational skills.
3. A proven track record reporting to Boards and Government Bodies.
4. A current CA or CPA.
5. High level financial literacy.
6. Experience in managing financial operations within an Indigenous organisation (highly desirable).
