Company: Marsh Description: We are seeking a talented individual to join our Accounting team at Marsh McLennan. This role will be based in Sydney. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working three days a week in the office. Senior Manager, Financial Reporting
- The Senior Manager, Financial Reporting is responsible for all internal financial reporting activities in Pacific to Region Controller, including liaison with Sub-Region Controllers, internal reporting teams and subject matter experts.
- The role is responsible for consolidation of financial information for US GAAP reporting for the region, subject to liaison with Sub-Region Controllers, other Controllership staff and functions, and provides support for other finance related activities including but not limited to local, regional and global projects, M&A due diligence and integration.
- Oversee and be responsible for the preparation of all monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting activities (P&L, Balance sheet and cash flow statements) in accordance with US GAAP.
- Chief planner and organizer to ensure on time and high quality preparation of technical and other presentation materials required.
- Manage relationships with broader Controllership teams, Financial Planning & Analysis team, and other Finance functions including Tax, Treasury, internal audit and external auditors.
- Assist with ensuring on time closing, overseeing and adhering to timelines. Develop and implement country level accounting policies and procedures where required.
- Provide oversight of projects, initiatives and acquisitions/dispositions across Marsh McLennan businesses in Pacific.
- Be the thought leader on projects which have reporting impact for Pacific companies.
- Provide leadership / oversight to the Accounting Ops team with respect to provision of information for external and internal audits.
- Provide support in M&A activities from due diligence through to purchase accounting.
- Manage teams on a matrix basis within the region, demonstrating leadership and driving for results.
- Be responsible for setting effective cadence protocols to ensure on time and high quality deliverables.
- Build a strong understanding of the business of stakeholders including their operations, priorities, risks and challenges sufficient to provide support to or on occasion step in for the Region/Sub-Region Controller.
- Ideally 10+ years in finance with 5+ years of management responsibilities.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or similar discipline required.
- Financial services industry experience preferred.
