The Team: The George Town District Hospital and Community Services provide 15 acute care beds, physiotherapy, dental and podiatry services, and other visiting providers. Other services provided by the Hospital include Palliative Care, Community Nursing, Home Help/Personal Care. Nursing quarters are available, co-located on site for staff to utilise with shared kitchen and bathroom amenities. George Town Hospital is approximately a 35-minute drive from Launceston, centrally located, close to supermarkets/eateries, and a five-minute drive to the beaches of Low Head. The Role: A Health Care Assistant assists with maintaining hygiene needs and supporting clients in the Community. You will work under the direction of the Nurse Unit Manager and Community Nursing Team. You will need:

• Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in performing personal care for the aged and/or people with a disability within their own home.
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients and the Community Health Team.
• Demonstrated ability to work competently with minimal supervision.

Details of appointment: Fixed term, casual, day worker position working as and when required, commencing as soon as possible for approximately 24 months. Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies. Salary: $62,486 to $65,119 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

• Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.
