Summary

Performs imaging procedures utilizing computerized tomography imaging scanners.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

  1. Reviews exam orders and protocols, clarifies with supervisors, and prepares for exams as necessary.
  2. Explains procedures to patients, prepares equipment, contrast media, and positions patients safely.
  3. Adjusts and operates CT imaging equipment, sets controls, and assists with contrast media injections.
  4. Monitors the patient's condition during and after the scan to ensure safety and comfort.
  5. Retrieves and processes patient information in the proper format for radiologist interpretation or archiving.
  6. Evaluates the quality of completed tests, documents all studies, and records necessary data for diagnosis.
  7. Performs routine equipment maintenance, reports malfunctions, and conducts quality control checks.
  8. Cleans equipment and rooms, restores supplies for future use, and ensures a safe, prepared environment.
  9. Complies with the Radiation Safety Rules and Regulations of the Hospital in accordance with KACST and K.A. CARE and other National or International Regulatory bodies.
  10. Applies ALARA principle role within the section practice for all procedures.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Radiological Sciences/Technology for Saudi Nationals or Graduate from an accredited Radiologic Technology program (minimum 2 years) for non-Saudis is required.

Experience Required

Grade 08: Two (2) years of related experience with Bachelor’s Degree, or four (4) years with programs is required. Grade 9:
  1. Four (4) years as Computed Tomography Technologist, or (Grade 08) related experience is required.
  2. Average of annual performance appraisal at least (3.5) for the last four (4) years.
  3. Fifty (50) hours of cumulative continued medical education [CME].

Other Requirements (Certificates)

  1. Current Registration from country of origin and Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCHS) is required.
  2. Registration with American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers or equivalent for non-Saudis is required.
