Job Overview: The Production Engineer applies their conceptual knowledge of Production and, with a moderate level of guidance and direction from colleagues and leadership, is responsible for solving a range of straightforward Production problems. They will be responsible for analyzing possible solutions using standard procedures and building knowledge of the company, processes, and customers. The Production Engineer understands critical business drivers and applies this knowledge to solve problems in straightforward situations by analyzing possible solutions using technical experience, judgment, and precedents. Responsibilities Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  1. Review project scope of work, schedules, and specifications; understand the requirements and deliverables
  2. Prepare Scope of Work and Task Listing
  3. Review the fabrication schedule and suggest corrections to the planning team
  4. Review drawings for constructability and identify any special items/subcontract requirements
  5. Review monthly material reports. Ensures and raises problems with material delivery
  6. Review the material requisitions prior to the order
  7. Check grade, plate sizing assumptions
  8. Initiate site queries to utilize available material (substitutions)
  9. Provide field guidance and ensure compliance with Company specification
  10. Attend production meetings and report concerns
  11. Monitor scope changes and Production revision orders
  12. Report weekly fabrication progress and monitor production man-hours and productivity
  13. Review four weeks look ahead plans and identify the constraints (material/drawings)
  14. Coordinate with the construction engineer to ensure procedures are issued timely/ all parties understand any change
  15. Coordinate any sub-contract scope
  16. Review as-built drawings
  17. Coordinate materials movements within the yard
  18. Coordinate with shop/erection floor planning to ensure compliance with the project plan.
  19. Approve relevant fabrication drawings and review Work Pack deliverables in accordance with Work Pack Index
Qualifications Essential Qualifications and Education:
  1. Bachelors Degree in Engineering
  2. 3+ years of experience in oil and gas with major contractor or consultant
  3. Familiar with the content and application of API RP2A, AISC, and AWS
  4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  5. Strong knowledge of industry standards and best practices related to production processes and facilities
