Senior Civil/Structural Engineer

nexos are looking for a Structural/Civil Engineer to join our Aberdeen team on a permanent basis. In this role you will be taking responsibility for executing structural and civil engineering activities while ensuring technical quality, budget, and schedule compliance. You will be involved in solving design challenges, preparing engineering deliverables, and reviewing design outputs for assigned scopes of work. Working in accordance with HSE & Quality regulations, you will contribute to business management processes and play a role in improving department efficiency, working practices, and team development. Supporting the development and competency of junior team members will be a key aspect of your role, alongside maintaining technical quality and adherence to checking and approval procedures. Collaboration is crucial, as you will engage with clients, project teams, engineering disciplines, and leadership to ensure seamless communication and project execution. You will support the Lead Engineer in team management, overseeing workload allocation, quality assurance, and delivery plans. Additionally, you will provide technical input into scopes of work, contribute to estimate preparations, and ensure that assigned tasks are completed within budget and schedule. Your role will involve preparing discipline-specific deliverables, providing input to multi-discipline documents, and checking the work of fellow engineers. Maintaining compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations is essential, as is keeping regular contact with the Lead Engineer and Head of Structural & Civils to address issues and drive continuous improvement. Skills & Qualifications : Essential:

• Degree qualification in a relevant engineering subject.
• Brownfield experience in the offshore sector.
• Technical competence in concept, FEED and detailed design of steel structures, foundations and civil infrastructure (roads, drainage etc.)
• Knowledge and experience in the use of relevant design codes and standards (e.g. Eurocodes, BS’s).
• Competence in ensuring quality of work and delivery to agreed schedules.
• Competence in the use of relevant engineering analysis and calculation software (e.g. STAAD.Pro, Mathcad, and any other relevant packages).

Desirable: Ideally chartered, or working towards chartership, with a relevant institution (e.g. ICE, IStructE).
