JOB DESCRIPTION-Information Technology Manager

Summary of Responsibilities The Information Technology Manager monitor and maintain the computer systems and networks of the Organization, he also provides technical support to the business, maintains the computer networks of all types, providing technical support and ensuring the whole company runs smoothly. He monitors and maintains the company computer systems, installs and configures hardware and software and solves technical problems diagnosing hardware, software and applications problems, with a view to solving it either over the phone or in person. Applications support specialist network management, software development and database administration.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities  Maintains organization's effectiveness and efficiency by defining, delivering, and supporting strategic plans for implementing information technologies.
- Installing and configuring computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers and scanners
- Monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks
- Responding in a timely manner to service issues and requests
- Providing technical support across the company and or group wide (this may be in person or over the phone)
- Setting up accounts for new users
- Repairing, replacing and purchase of equipment as necessary across the Group.
- Liaise with internet service provider to make payments and ensure there is uninterrupted internet connection.
- Testing new technology
- Preserves assets by implementing disaster recovery and back-up procedures and information security and control structures.
- Preserve assets, information security and control structures
- Identify problematic areas and implement strategic solutions in time
- Act in alignment with user needs and system functionality to contribute to organizational policy
- Ensure security of data, network access and backup systems
- Design, develop, implement and coordinate systems, policies and procedures
- Plan, organize, control and evaluate IT and electronic data operations
- Any other function as may be assigned by the Head of Operations and or the GMD
- Professional certification will be added advantage
- Minimum of 5 years relevant post-graduation experience.
- Proven experience as Info Tech Officer
- Excellent knowledge of technical management, information analysis and of computer hardware/software systems
- Hands-on experience with computer networks, network administration and network installation
- A keen eye for detail
- An analytical mind with problem-solving skills
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
- Excellent organizational and follow-up skills
- Competent in problem solving and planning
- Self-directed and self-motivated
