Established in 2020, St Joseph Affordable Homes Incorporated is a building and construction social enterprise that is an Agency of the Catholic Archdiocese of Hobart (‘the Archdiocese’), an expression of the social mission of the Church. St Joseph Affordable Homes plays an important function in the construction of new social and affordable housing. Our organisation provides substantial and sustainable employment opportunities for young Tasmanians who experience barriers to employment, with our main mission to alleviate housing pressure and homelessness. About the Opportunity As the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), you will report directly to the Executive Director – Administration and Finance of the Archdiocese of Hobart while also being guided by the St Joseph Affordable Homes’ Board for the delivery of strategic intents, leading the operational foundation of a mission-driven organisation. Providing leadership and operational direction for the delivery of affordable and social housing, building and construction, and trade-apprenticeships services based on the mission of the Catholic Church and Archbishop’s Charter to the community in Tasmania. About You We are looking for an experienced Executive with a proven track record in strategic delivery, compliance, governance, and risk management. A background with a minimum of 5 years of experience in an Executive role in the building and construction industry. You thrive in dynamic environments with a focus on driving business growth. With an authentic people management style, high emotional intelligence, and exceptional communication skills, you will excel at engaging diverse stakeholders. Your strategic mindset and commercial approach will enable you to solve complex challenges effectively. You must have unrestricted working rights in Australia. At a minimum, a National Police Check, Registration to Work with Vulnerable People, and a valid unrestricted driver’s licence are required. Knowledge of the statutory requirements of Workplace Health and Safety standards, Duty of Care, Privacy legislation, Mandatory Reporting, and Anti-Discrimination legislation is expected.
