The Role Allianz has an exciting opportunity to join our SME Underwriting team as an SME Underwriter where you will be responsible for providing a high level of underwriting service to our broker stakeholders and working collaboratively with our broader underwriting and distribution teams to ensure appropriate underwriting decisions are made. This role will suit a candidate who has had experience in underwriting SME Packages and Commercial Motor, has excellent broker management and influencing skills, and is looking to progress their career. You'll be responsible for:

1. Manage electronic referrals received via Sunrise;
2. Manage new business requests, renewal management and the processing of endorsements and amendments as requested;
3. Work effectively within the underwriting team to convert quality business to achieve profitable growth;
4. Submit ideas on how we can improve our underwriting approach to deliver objectives;
5. Monitor performance to ensure key financial indicators are achieved, namely GWP, Leakage and Profit measures;
6. Maximise retention of preferred accounts and review renewal and new business in conjunction with internal and external stakeholder requirements;
7. Where appropriate and requested, engage face to face with local Brokers alongside distribution and underwriting staff to build relationships and partnerships;
8. Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders within Small to Medium Enterprise (SME), Commercial and other Allianz divisions;
9. Ensure all key compliance and contract certainty requirements are adhered to such as training courses and peer reviews, and constantly seek opportunities for process improvement.

1. A passion for providing a quality and responsive service to our internal and external customers;
2. Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to both build relationships and influence at all levels;
3. Self-motivated with the ability to work in an autonomous environment;
4. Ability to positively influence the team;
5. Experience in an operational, commercial underwriting role with exposure to at least a couple of annual underwriting cycles;
6. Ability to plan and prioritise effectively, organise tasks and manage competing resources and demands;
7. Pays high attention to detail by completing tasks with thoroughness and accuracy and must have the ability to quickly identify errors or inconsistencies within information;
8. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of communicating with clarity, impact and influence.
