About The Role We are seeking a Senior Geologist based at our Maules Creek Operations in the Gunnedah Basin. Your expertise will optimise the value of the mine’s open cut resource through the collection and reconciliation of geological data and provision of advice. This is a site-based role working a 9-day fortnight roster at Maules Creek Mine. Temporary accommodation & relocation assistance is provided. DIDO options may be discussed. What You’ll Do Working within the Technical Services department, key duties will include:
- Manage the on-site geological technical databases ensuring accurate data is adequately recorded and applied. Maintain geotechnical hazards registers updated.
- Develop and monitor mine drilling and exploration programs & maintain geological models updated.
- Interact and provide geological guidance to production on relevant mining practices to ensure the expected coal quality targets are achieved in the use of the resource.
- Demonstrate visible safety leadership and participate in planning, hazard identification & risk assessments.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with leaders, peers and other key stakeholders.
- Tertiary qualifications in Geology as well as relevant experience in open cut mine geology.
- Experience with Geological Modelling Software packages and database platforms.
- High level of interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
- High level of computer literacy and strong data analysis skills.
