House of Shipping's commitment to their customers begins with developing an understanding of their business fundamentals. Currently, House of Shipping is looking to identify a high-caliber Operations Manager for a leading shipping company. Main tasks and responsibilities

Port and Vessel Operations Management

Negotiate and secure timely berths for incoming and outgoing vessels.
Oversee vessel operations at ports, ensuring adherence to schedules and minimizing delays.
Communicate effectively with shipmasters regarding operational plans and updates.
Arrange pilots and tugs to facilitate safe vessel maneuvering.

Logistical and Supply Management

Organize and manage supplies for vessels, including bunkers, fresh water, and other necessities.
Prepare and coordinate documentation related to berthing, cargo operations, customs, and harbor services.

Regulatory Compliance and Risk Management

Stay updated on international and local shipping regulations and port policies.
Ensure all operations comply with regulatory and safety standards.
Develop contingency plans to address emergency situations and coordinate responses with relevant authorities.

Stakeholder and Client Coordination

Maintain regular communication with clients to provide updates on vessel schedules and delays.
Collaborate with port authorities, terminals, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless operations.
Address and resolve queries from container terminals regarding vessel specifications and operations.

Performance Monitoring and Reporting

Generate and analyze monthly performance reports on vessel utilization, fleet idle time, and overall efficiency.
Identify areas for operational improvement and recommend solutions to enhance efficiency.

Leadership and Team Coordination

Supervise and coordinate the operational team to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and cost-effectively.
Motivate team members to achieve high performance and operational excellence.

Qualifications/Experience and Education Background

Bachelor’s degree, with proficiency in shipping software and MS Office.
Above 10-15 years’ experience in the shipping industry.
Experience in maritime operations.
Knowledge of shipping regulations, and familiarity with port operations and vessel services.
