We are looking for an FSU Conversion Engineer to join our client’s team and play a key role in the transformation and optimization of their Floating Storage Units (FSU). Reporting to the FSU Conversion Manager, you will be responsible for supervising engineering subcontractors, coordinating technical studies, and interfacing with various project stakeholders. With your expertise in naval architecture, vessel conversion, and LNG, you will ensure equipment compliance with regulatory standards and oversee the smooth execution of yard activities. This role requires extensive experience in the offshore industry, along with a strong command of applicable regulations and standards. Responsibilities:
- Adhere to company safety policy and actively participate in creating a safe working environment at all times.
- Undertake jobs assigned by the FSU Conversion Manager.
- Prepare Scope of Work for detailed engineering and yard activities.
- Lead and supervise detailed engineering activities.
- Coordinate with project team dedicated discipline leads.
- Involved in the technical review of subcontractors.
- Review and update vessel and engineering documentation (P&ID, OIM manuals, safety studies, mooring and installation procedures).
- Interface with Class and ensure compliance with Class rules for new equipment and life extension of existing equipment (hull fatigue assessment).
- Interface with package managers.
- Extensive knowledge in engineering and naval architecture.
- LNG experience required.
- Familiar with applicable regulations, codes of practice, and standards in the context of marine and offshore oil and gas industry.
- Experience in the field of marine and offshore activities with regards to transport and installation including mooring.
- Minimum 5 years experience as Engineering lead.
- Experience in ship conversion or FLNG/FSRU newbuilding.
- LNG or cryogenic experience required.
- Must have hands-on experience with installation and mooring design.
- Must have hands-on experience with STS operations.
- A good knowledge of all appropriate engineering systems.
- A good knowledge of safety and emergency systems and equipment on-board.
- High level of verbal and written communication skills in English.
