Waldorf Astoria The Palm Palm Jumeirah Road Crescent East Dubai Aa01 A Demi Chef de Partie with Waldorf Astoria Hotels and Resorts is responsible for preparing and presenting high-quality dishes to deliver an excellent Guest and Member experience while assisting with food cost controls. What will I be doing? As a Demi Chef de Partie, you will assist in preparing high-quality dishes while ensuring smooth kitchen operations. You will work closely with the Chef de Partie and Sous Chef to maintain the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and hygiene, delivering an exceptional dining experience for our guests in a relaxed yet luxurious beachfront setting. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:- Prepare and present high-quality dishes within company guidelines.
- Assist in preparing and cooking dishes according to hotel standards and guest preferences within company guidelines.
- Ensure consistency in taste, quality, and presentation of all menu items.
- Support the section chef in mise en place preparation, ensuring ingredients are fresh and ready.
- Maintain high levels of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen at all times. Ensure no cross-contamination.
- Ensure proper storage and labeling of ingredients.
- Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure smooth operations during busy service hours.
- Communicate effectively with front-of-house staff to accommodate guest requests.
- Assist in training and guiding junior chefs or kitchen assistants when needed.
- Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory control.
- Ensure kitchen equipment is used properly and report any maintenance issues.
- Assist other departments wherever necessary and maintain good working relationships.
- Report maintenance, hygiene, and hazard issues.
- Comply with hotel policies, security, fire regulations, and all health and safety and food safety legislation.
- Previous experience as a Demi Chef de Partie in a high-end beach club, luxury resort, or fine dining restaurant.
- Strong knowledge of grill, seafood, Mediterranean, and light poolside cuisine.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, outdoor kitchen environment.
- Passion for food and creativity in presentation.
- Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.
