Job Responsibilities Ensure that all existing and new hires are properly trained to suit the position's requirements and that a cross-training program is continuous. Maximize the potential of plant personnel through training, coaching and technical & organizational support. Set up (reestablish) a comprehensive theoretical and practical (Gas plant) training program to mainly ensure process safety and reliability (avoid human errors). Advise, train and assess supervision functions of operations team, to effectively supervise and manage (maintenance) contractors with a focus on task/scope definition and quality control. Conduct trainings, assessments and provide guidance to operating and maintenance teams and individuals to improve & maintain the plant personnel competence and effectiveness. Set up various training levels for different disciplines with cross-training across (process) areas and functions. Foresee initial assessments, self-learning and group sessions/lectures where appropriate (e.g., including regular control room talks), together with feedback loops for learning control and assessment of the hands-on trainers (e.g., experienced operators). Ensure that all training material and SOPs are maintained up-to-date. Develop training system and materials by reviewing existing material and improving it. Include a training database (with software tools, updated document references to plant documentation and SOPs, pictures, videos, etc.). Support the regular reporting to monitor key equipment and process unit health, performance and KPI monitoring, and support RCFAs and plant (re-)HAZOPs. Challenge plant maintenance and operations management to improve procedures (SOPs), work order definition/planning (routine maintenance) and quality control. Include new or improved procedures and the training therefore into the training systems & training schedules. Participate in daily (morning) meetings of the operations team and stay familiar with all ongoing plant issues/activities. Challenge the meetings from the trainers' perspective. Requirements Minimum 5 years of work experience in chemical/gas plant operations, maintenance, commissioning (PSSR, troubleshooting), process design (incl. HAZOP, P&ID development, conceptual design, process simulation, etc.). Experience in setting up and implementing on-site training programs for Operations personnel. Experienced user level of (MS-) office software including Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint. Detailed knowledge of principal operational steps and sequences (procedures) to operate (start/stop/maintain) general plant equipment (pumps, compressors, turbines, boilers, fired heaters, reactors, columns, adsorbers, filters, analyzers, HVAC, etc.). Knowledge of the safety, health and environmental requirements of petrochemical facilities in Singapore. Thorough understanding of chemical and industrial gas plant equipment and operations (H2/CO syngas processes, gasification, ASU, SRU, steam/BFW/boiler systems). General knowledge of all plant systems (e.g., DCS, machinery, equipment, electrical, utilities, instrumentation including ESD & SIS and machinery monitoring/protection systems, analyzers, etc.).
