Sales Development Representative

Our client is looking for an ambitious and energetic Sales Development Representative to join their team. The role will require focus and dedication to achieve client-related objectives and targets. Whilst the role is based out of our Cape Town office, the client base is not confined to South Africa, and most of our clients are offshore. We are looking for someone who is not afraid to hunt and can collaborate with our client’s team. Key Attributes Required ● Working experience as a Sales Development Representative ● Proven track record of SDR experience ● Experience in digital marketing or B2B is a plus ● High Proficiency in working with CRM software tools ● A drive to pursue and achieve targets and goals ● Articulate with a good command of written and spoken English ● Communication and negotiation skills ● Ability to build rapport ● Time management and planning skills ● Not afraid of cold calls ● Can hunt for meetings ● Has an understanding of how to navigate different markets in different regions ● Tech savvy ● Computer literate Requirements ● Minimum 3 years of sales development representative experience, ideally in a B2B environment ● Minimum Matric, plus ideally some form of tertiary qualification and certification Key Areas of Responsibility 1. New Business Development ● Achieve the monthly target of meetings booked ● Pursue, develop and convert cold leads into meetings booked ● Follow ups, qualification and management of leads ● Understand, promote and position our clients’ products and services ● Provide market feedback to our clients ● Ensure all administrative documents are completed and up to date ● Provide trustworthy feedback both internally and externally ● Build long-term relationships with new and existing clients 2. Product Knowledge ● Have a full and detailed understanding of our clients’ service and product offering in order to adequately create brand awareness and exposure to new markets ● Keep apprised of industry trends and knowledge and harness this to position our clients’ offering to prospects 3. Client Relationships ● Nurture new prospects, from initial contact to passing on the lead to our clients ● Handle objections and questions from prospects 4. Prospecting ● Identify and research prospects through various channels, including LinkedIn and databases ● Execute effective outbound campaigns, including cold calling, email outreach and LinkedIn ● Ensure leads passed on to clients fit their criteria
