Learn more at     We’re growing fast and invite you to join our amazing team.  POSITION SUMMARY:   The IT Manager will be responsible for managing day-to-day IT Operations and IT Projects, acting as people manager for the local IT team members. This role involves working closely with both local and other, international teams within Descartes. The local IT team in Manila delivers several services to other parts of the global Descartes IT organization. The IT Manager will be the intermediary between the local team and remote colleagues. The successful candidate will work from the Makati office and report to the VP IT Services APAC-EMEA. RESPONSIBILITIES:  • Manage and coach a team of IT professionals, including doing performance evaluations. • Organize tasks in an efficient way, always keeping overview. • Provide guidance, leadership, planning and coordination to successfully complete concurrent projects. • Provide strategic input to further grow the responsibilities of the local IT team in coordination with the VP IT and General Manager Descartes Philippines. • Create technical and process documentation. • Guide the team to work efficiently with overseas IT teams and implement “follow the sun”-based services where appropriate. • Assist the team hands-on if needed. • Provide reporting towards IT management. • Suggest and drive initiatives to improve efficiency.   QUALIFICATIONS:  • University degree or college diploma in computer science, information technology or equivalent. • 5+ years of IT and people management experience managing 5+ direct reports. • Working knowledge of ITIL Incident, Change and Problem Management. • Experience with or understanding of Windows Server, Unix and Windows Desktop Operating Systems, MS Active Directory, MS Systems Center, wide area network topologies, data processing, software and systems design, database technologies, problem analysis, virtualization technologies, storage, server and desktop hardware, public cloud is a plus • Expert Knowledge of M365 is required, active experience with Power-BI is an asset. • IT Security aware. • Demonstrated communication, negotiation, presentation and conflict resolution skills. • Fluent in English, both written and oral. • Must be process-driven and project-focused.
