Job Summary : We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Mid-Level Accountant to join our Finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of statutory compliance, including GST, ESI, PF, and TDS. This role involves handling day-to-day accounting activities, ensuring timely filing of statutory returns, and maintaining financial records in compliance with regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities :

  • Statutory Compliance : Ensure adherence to statutory regulations, including GST, ESI, PF, and TDS. Prepare and file returns such as GST-2, GST-3, GST-9, and TDS returns on time.
  • GST Management : Manage the GST processes, including the reconciliation of GST liability, preparation of GST returns (GST-2, GST-3, GST-9), and filing with the tax authorities. Ensure correct input tax credit (ITC) claims and manage the GST audit process.
  • TDS Management : Calculate, deduct, and deposit TDS as per applicable sections. Prepare and file TDS returns and ensure timely issuance of TDS certificates to vendors and employees.
  • Employee Provident Fund (PF) & Employees' State Insurance (ESI) : Handle PF and ESI contributions, filing, and reconciliation for both employees and employers. Ensure accurate deduction and remittance in compliance with labor laws.
  • Accounting Support : Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Perform account reconciliations and assist with audits.
  • General Ledger Management : Maintain accurate accounting records and ensure all transactions are recorded in accordance with the company’s accounting policies.
  • Tax and Financial Reporting : Assist in the preparation of tax reports, financial statements, and other reports as required for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Reporting and Documentation : Ensure proper documentation and filing of all statutory returns, payments, and compliance reports. Provide necessary support during statutory audits and inspections.
  • Internal Controls : Maintain robust internal control procedures and ensure compliance with financial and accounting standards.
  • Ad-hoc Tasks : Provide support for ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting, as required by management.
Required Qualifications :
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CA Inter or CMA Inter preferred).
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in accounting with a focus on statutory compliance (GST, TDS, PF, ESI).
  • Strong knowledge of Indian taxation laws, including GST, TDS, PF, and ESI.
  • Experience with statutory filing of GST (GST-2, GST-3, GST-9) and TDS returns.
  • Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., Tally, SAP, or similar ERP systems).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, data analysis).
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling financial records.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with vendors, clients, and regulatory authorities.
Preferred Qualifications :
  • Prior experience in a mid-sized or large organization.
  • Knowledge of financial auditing processes.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently.
  • Awareness of any recent changes or updates in statutory laws and regulations.
