We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join our team. This individual will be responsible for preparing electrical design and manufacturing packages for transformers and providing engineering support on the shop floor. Senior Electrical Design Engineer Responsibilities:
- Customer Requirements: Interpret and fulfill customer specifications and project needs.
- Technical Documentation: Create design review documents, technical reports, and justifications for clients.
- Design Preparation: Develop comprehensive electrical designs and manufacturing packages.
- Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with sales, mechanical design, manufacturing, quality, Purchase, testing, and service teams.
- Component Specifications: Draft technical specifications for components like tap changers, bushings, current transformers, winding conductors, and insulation parts.
- Project Management: Ensure timely project completion and provide support to the shop floor.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.
- Transformer Testing: Testing experience is an advantage.
- Experience: 7 -10 years in oil immersed transformers; renewable energy applications & normal power sector will be added advantage.
- Education: Bachelor's or Master’s in Electrical / Electrical and Electronics / High Voltage Engineering.
- Standards Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of IEC/IEEE standards.
- Technical Expertise:
- Proficient in electrical calculations and design of oil-filled transformers.
- Capable of electrical design up to 25MVA 69kV Class per IEC / IEEE / NEMA / UL / CSA standards.
- Knowledgeable in various core constructions and winding types (layer, foil, disc, helical, multi-start, multi-layer).
- Hands on for using various design program for designing & analysis.
- Able to produce winding drawings / specifications for manufacturing.
- Competent in understanding & resolving shop floor issues related to winding and high voltage assembly & Connections.
