Job Description AtkinsRéalis are currently looking for a degree qualified Construction Director with over 20 years experience in Infra/Tunnels. This person must be forward thinking and experienced in running large, multi-disciplined site teams. Requirements The Construction Director will be a qualified professional who is currently working at Director Level and is capable of providing planning, leadership, direction and technical expertise to manage complex tasks and multidisciplinary projects. He must have a minimum qualification BSc, BEng, BA or equivalent, have Chartered status and more than 20 years experience with 7 being similar to this project/role. The Construction Director will also be responsible for maintaining and enhancing Atkins reputation with our clients and developing effective long term client relationships thus identifying and developing new opportunities for the Group. Requirements
- Must have a minimum qualification as BSc, BEng or equivalent . Advanced degree and Chartered status are preferable.
- 20 years+ experience with 7 being similar to this project/role.
- Experience with large scale construction operations, management of multiple contracts, particularly heavy civils inc. tunnels and viaducts, infrastructure, landscape and public realm highly desirable for this mega project in addition to iconic building assets.
- Highly articulate, experienced in reporting and communication to senior executives.
- An experienced Construction Director with a demonstrable track record in the delivery of large multi-functional infrastructure projects, preferably Rail.
- Excellent knowledge of construction techniques as well as project controls procedures, quality and health & safety.
- Having experience on Recreational, Sports Facilities, Cultural Development, Urban Planning projects is an added advantage.
- A “rounded profile”, comfortable with planning, analysis and managing process and commercial considerations. The successful candidate will also be able to mobilise people and teams and drive for a successful delivery.
- Effective in building good working relationships within complex structures both within projects, with Clients and internally.
- Manage a multi functional site supervision team responsible for delivering a large scale rail infrastructure project with Tunnels, Viaducts and iconic stations in accordance with the Client’s requirements.
- Manage key stakeholder interfaces which will include all departments within the Client organisation as well as other government departments.
- Overall construction management and control.
- Monitor contractors for compliance with their contractual responsibilities.
- Monitor progress of the construction for compliance with schedule.
- Ensure delivery of projects to time, cost and quality and ensuring highest standards of Health & Safety are achieved.
- Ensure resources are appropriate to meet current and future commitments and to maximise opportunities.
- Must be forward thinking and experienced in running large, multi-disciplined site teams.
