Roles and responsibilities We are looking to hire an Accounts Receivable Accountant who will be responsible for managing and tracking incoming payments (revenue), ensuring accurate invoicing, maintaining financial records, and financial reporting. The role sits within the Finance Department and reports directly to the Invoicing & Revenue Manager . This is initially a role for 6 months and is renewable. Key responsibilities :

  • Reconcile receipts for different payment methods, such as cash, credit card, bank transfers, and cheques, by using Oracle - Fusion.
  • Post non-sufficient fund (NSF) bounced cheque entries and maintain a bounced cheque tracker.
  • Payment processing & reconciliation - reconcile accounts receivable (AR) ledger to ensure all payments are properly accounted for.
  • Reconcile physical collection with the daily collection report and sign off for the day, including banking transactions.
  • Reporting and compliance - prepare AR aging reports, provide insights on overdue accounts, and assist in month-end and year-end closing activities.
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliation activities, including reconciling the cash book (GL) with bank books (BS).
  • Handle and coordinate with the Treasury and Finance team by providing necessary information.
Knowledge, skills & experience :
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; ACA/ACCA/CPA preferred
  • Strong experience in AR/AP accounting and invoicing
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience.
  • Familiarity with Oracle Fusion.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Desired candidate profile 1. Accounting Knowledge
  • Understanding of general accounting principles (GAAP or IFRS).
  • Familiarity with financial reports, ledgers, and journal entries.
  • Knowledge of tax regulations and how they relate to accounts receivable.
2. Attention to Detail
  • Precision in handling financial data and ensuring the accuracy of payments, invoicing, and records.
3. Financial Software Proficiency
  • Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Advanced Excel skills for data manipulation and analysis (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and complex formulas).
4. Cash Flow Management
  • Ability to track incoming payments, assess accounts, and maintain liquidity.
  • Skilled at analyzing payment trends and resolving discrepancies.
5. Communication Skills
  • Clear and professional communication with clients or customers regarding overdue payments or account inquiries.
  • Ability to negotiate and resolve payment issues effectively.
6. Problem-Solving Abilities
  • Resolving billing issues, disputes, and discrepancies between customers and internal teams.
  • Finding solutions to improve the accounts receivable process.
7. Time Management
  • Managing multiple tasks, prioritizing workloads, and meeting deadlines.
  • Ensuring timely invoicing, follow-ups, and collections.
8. Analytical Skills
  • Ability to assess financial data and trends to identify potential issues or opportunities for improvement.
  • Experience with financial forecasting and budgeting based on accounts receivable data.
9. Customer Service Orientation
  • Ability to maintain good relationships with customers while ensuring the timely receipt of payments.
10. Knowledge of Collection Practices
  • Understanding of legalities and best practices for collecting overdue payments.
  • Knowledge of the steps in the collection process, from reminders to final notices.
11. Confidentiality and Integrity
  • Handling sensitive financial information with discretion and professionalism.
