The Mechanical Technician at Savola Foods Company will be an integral member of the maintenance team at our food and retail production facilities. This junior-level position is responsible for maintaining the functionality and performance of all mechanical equipment, ensuring seamless production processes. The incumbent will directly contribute to the reliability of machinery such as pumps, valves, gearboxes, conveyors, and specialized sugar processing machines, adhering strictly to OEM standards. The technician will be hands-on in conducting daily inspections, executing preventive maintenance during scheduled shutdowns, and overseeing both minor and periodical repairs. The role demands a blend of technical acuity and practical problem-solving, ensuring all equipment is maintained in optimal condition. The technician will also be responsible for preparing and utilizing job tools, management of permit work related to maintenance, inspection of incoming spare parts, and ensuring adherence to safety and environmental protocols. Effective communication and reporting are critical components of this role, as is the capacity for creative thinking and troubleshooting during operation shifts. The Mechanical Technician will maintain a high standard of housekeeping and contribute to the continuous improvement of maintenance practices. Skills Job Requirements:

Diploma or Technical Institute certification in Mechanical Maintenance or related field.
Minimum 2 to 3 years of experience in mechanical maintenance, preferably within the food and retail industry.
Proficiency in both Arabic and English languages is required.
Demonstrated knowledge of maintaining mechanical equipment such as pumps, valves, gearboxes, and conveyors.
Competent in using tools and equipment necessary for mechanical repairs and maintenance.
Understanding of preventive maintenance strategies and practices.
Acute awareness of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards and practices.
Availability for shift work and flexible hours to accommodate maintenance schedules and emergency repairs.
Ability to inspect and evaluate incoming spare parts for quality and suitability.
Proficiency in fabricating and modifying mechanical components when required.
Valid permit to work and handle job tools in a complex, industrial environment.
Aptitude for systematic troubleshooting and problem-solving under operational pressures.
Capability to generate clear reports evaluating maintenance activities and suggestions for improvements.

Job Responsibilities:

Conduct daily inspections of plant equipment and document findings in inspection records/checklists.
Perform and document preventive maintenance activities in line with the annual shutdown schedule, including minor and periodical repairs.
Oversee the repair process, whether conducted in-house or by an external workshop, ensuring the quality of work aligns with company standards.
Prepare the required tools, permits, spares, and stand-by units necessary for repair execution.
Consistently follow the company's safety and environmental precautions during duty.
Respond to, troubleshoot, and resolve daily mechanical issues to minimize equipment downtime.
Prepare and maintain accurate reports reflecting shift maintenance activities and corrective actions for evaluation by the mechanical supervisor.
Adhere to established working methods, procedures, and work standards.
Monitor the condition of online mechanical equipment during shifts, ensuring optimal performance.
Maintain a clean working environment and promote good housekeeping practices.
Transport tools and required spare parts from the Mechanical Workshop to the working area and ensure proper organization and inventory management.

Required Skills:

Technical proficiency in fabrications and a strong knowledge of mechanical components.
Effective supervision skills to manage tasks and coordinate with the maintenance team.
Solid job-related technical knowledge is necessary for successful equipment maintenance.
Clear and effective communication abilities, both written and verbal.
Creative thinking capacity to develop innovative solutions to mechanical issues.
Strong HSE awareness to maintain compliance with safety protocols.
Exceptional problem-solving and troubleshooting skills for immediate and effective response to equipment malfunctions.
