We are looking for a proactive Technical Engineer to join our team in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will play a critical role in managing and coordinating all technical aspects of the project, including the review of submittals, shop drawings, project documentation, site coordination, and compliance with local regulations and project specifications. The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work closely with internal teams, consultants, and subcontractors. Key Responsibilities:

Technical Submittals & Documentation Management:
- Review, evaluate, and approve technical submittals , including materials, method statements, test reports, and RFI responses, ensuring they align with project specifications and contractual requirements.
- Prepare, review, and track technical documents such as specifications, design drawings, and compliance reports.
- Ensure timely submission of documents and maintain a comprehensive record of approvals and rejections.
- Coordinate with consultants and clients to secure approvals while addressing technical queries and concerns.
Shop Drawings Review & Coordination:
- Evaluate architectural, structural, and MEP shop drawings , ensuring design alignment and compliance with project requirements and local regulations.
- Coordinate with design teams and subcontractors to resolve technical discrepancies and design conflicts before implementation.
- Work closely with BIM teams to facilitate the integration of updated designs and minimize clashes.
- Ensure as-built drawings are updated and accurate for final handover.
Site Coordination & Problem Solving:
- Work closely with the site team to ensure smooth execution of works by resolving technical issues related to drawings, materials, and project execution.
- Provide technical support during construction phases by ensuring compliance with design intent and specifications.
- Assist in coordinating between various trades (civil, architectural, MEP) to avoid rework and ensure project efficiency.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and identify potential technical challenges.
Compliance with Local Authorities & Standards:
- Ensure all project activities comply with Abu Dhabi Municipality (ADM), ADDC, ADCD, and other regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and submit authority approvals, NOCs, and technical reports as required.
- Stay updated on relevant building codes, safety regulations, and environmental compliance requirements.
- Ensure subcontractors and suppliers meet the project’s technical and legal requirements.
Value Engineering & Cost Efficiency:
- Work with project management to identify cost-saving opportunities through value engineering and alternative materials.
- Provide technical insights to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and maintain project timelines.
- Assess proposed design changes for their impact on project cost and feasibility.
Quality Control & Assurance:
- Collaborate with the QA/QC team to ensure adherence to project quality standards and specifications.
- Assist in preparing and implementing Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and monitor compliance throughout construction.
- Conduct technical audits and inspections to ensure proper execution of work as per approved drawings and specifications.
Coordination with Procurement & Contracts:
- Provide technical support to the procurement team by reviewing material submittals, supplier proposals, and ensuring compliance with technical specifications.
- Assist in reviewing subcontractor contracts to ensure alignment with project requirements.
- Track material deliveries and ensure they meet project standards and site requirements.
Reporting & Stakeholder Communication:
- Prepare and present weekly and monthly reports on submittals, approvals, and site technical progress.
- Act as a liaison between project stakeholders to ensure technical issues are addressed efficiently.
- Attend regular technical coordination meetings with consultants, clients, and subcontractors.

Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
Minimum 5+ years of experience in technical engineering roles within the construction industry in Abu Dhabi.
Proficient in reviewing technical drawings, material submittals, and project documentation.
Strong knowledge of Abu Dhabi construction regulations, standards, and authority submission processes.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Primavera P6, and Microsoft Office.
Experience in working with BIM models and design coordination.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Skills:

Familiarity with document control systems such as Aconex or Procore.
Strong organizational skills to manage multiple submissions and technical issues simultaneously.
Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
Problem-solving and analytical thinking skills to address on-site challenges.
