Business Function Risk Management Group works closely with our business partners to manage the bank's risk exposure by balancing its objective to maximise returns against an acceptable risk profile. We partner with origination teams to provide financing, investments and hedging opportunities to our customers. To manage risk effectively and run a successful business, we invest significantly in our people and infrastructure. Job Purpose This is a role within the Wealth Management Credit team under the Risk Management Group, as a Credit Risk Manager supporting Credit Approvals for the Private Banking (PB) and Treasures Private Client (TPC) client segments. Responsibilities
- Review and Approve PB/TPC credit requests as per the delegated authority, and provide supporting credit recommendations for cases with higher approval authority.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate risk in credit transactions and collaborate with Front office (RM's) and the Credit Managers on credit structuring and risk mitigation for complex credit requests, ensuring that potential risks not limited to credit, legal, documentation, regulatory, and reputational risk are properly addressed and justified.
- Identify emerging risks in the portfolio through proactive monitoring of market developments, evaluate portfolio performance under stress conditions, identify vulnerable accounts and work with RMs to manage accounts.
- Support the review of Credit programs and new Product structures proposed by the Product team.
- Support the review and development of Credit Policy standards and guidelines to ensure robust credit risk management.
- Ensure compliance with Internal Policy and regulatory guidelines as well as audit requirements.
- Contribute towards digital transformation initiatives, as required through participation in projects related to automation and streamlining of credit processes.
- Bachelors or Post Graduate degree with at least 8 years of experience
- The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in Credit Risk Management, preferably in the Private Banking or corporate banking space with a track record of managing UHNW credit portfolios / underwriting complex credit proposals.
- Strong Analytical/ Credit Analysis skills and understanding of financial markets and derivatives
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders including Credit Managers, Relationship Managers and Product teams.
- Meticulous with good attention to detail and ability to work efficiently under tight timelines.
- Aptitude and mindset to continuously leverage technology to drive efficiency and automation.
