Job Purpose The role holder is responsible for managing the collection of assets from customers using internal and external efforts to keep the delinquency under control and minimizing the losses for the Bank. The role holder is also responsible for ensuring that the collection efforts are carried out within the legal and regulatory framework of the bank. Key Responsibilities
- Independently manage the end-to-end collection and recovery efforts for Retail banking.
- Independently follow-up with customers to collect past dues amounts to ensure minimum delinquency and maximum recovery in-line with the Bank budgeted provisioning targets.
- Meet with defaulting customers and provide financial advice relating to restructuring and repayment options within the Bank’s policy and procedures to ensure repayment continuity and avoiding classification of accounts.
- Where necessary, meet the customer and agree on settlement deals. Present such settlement deals to management for approval.
- Where the customer has retired, meet with the customers provide restructuring advice that are within Central Bank of Bahrain and bank guidelines.
- Liaise with all internal departments to ensure accurate processing of all approved transactions in the core banking system.
- Initiate and pursue legal action against customers where all internal means of collections have been exhausted while ensuring compliance with the Bank's policy and procedures.
- Manage the process of legal action with the Bank’s external Legal counsel to ensure smooth processing of the Legal recovery process including sale of securities.
- Liaise with various governmental and court authorities to ensure implementation of sanctions and/or execution of any procedural requirements.
- Proactively monitor the Retail portfolio and markets to provide information to the Head of department of any developments that may affect delinquency and/or require changes in the bank’s credit policy.
- Achieve annual individual and departmental financial targets, including recovery and non-performing targets in line with the Banks budgeted financial targets.
- Provide timely reports to the Head of the department.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or any related subject or equivalent is required.
- Minimum 1-2 years of practical experience in a bank or same or similar function.
