- You will support administration of customs and trade compliance plans and processes to facilitate the timely, secure and cost-effective import, export and shipment of materials, equipment, products, packages, and documents across international borders.
- You will implement customs brokerage activities such as preparing and maintaining shipping records, preparing bills of lading and various perform computations including duties, tariffs, price conversions, weights and volumes.
- You will provide customs related import/ export services to TBO and NTBO transports.
- You will conduct classification of goods based on information provided by the customers.
- You will review shipped items, shipping validity dates and debits and duties/ tariffs at government institutions.
- You will identify, obtain and collate documents required for obtaining permits, licenses, and certificates for customs clearance.
- You will perform daily shipment documentation work, customs declarations and other required documents including post clearance modifications according to regulations and internal procedures.
- You will process, handle, distribute and archive all required documents in the shipping area.
- You will perform booking and booking optimization according to internal guidelines as defined by product team.
- You will raise bills to customers for services, examine invoices and shipping documents to ensure compliance with federal regulations.
- You will co-ordinate with overseas office to check and verify shipment information.
- You will communicate with external organizations such as customs authorities or shipping agents to verify customs requirements and finalize shipping costs and times.
- You will identify and resolve recurring issues, and suggest modifications for customs work methods focusing on increasing effectiveness and efficiency, and controlling costs.
- You may provide functional guidance, advice or training to less experienced positions.
- You will advise customers on legal (e.g. trade compliance - shipments to sanctioned countries) and customs topics.
