Job details

The Recycling Machines Maintenance Unit Head plays a crucial role in ensuring the optimal performance and longevity of recycling machinery within the recycling industry. This position involves overseeing the maintenance team, implementing preventive maintenance programs, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in machinery maintenance, particularly in the recycling sector, and will be responsible for leading initiatives that enhance operational efficiency and reduce downtime.

Responsibilities

  1. Leading all maintenance activities of the metal recycling plants and machines, ensuring efficient performance, adherence with safety and environmental standards, and effective team leadership.
  2. Develop and implement maintenance plans and schedules to achieve maximum availability and performance efficiency.
  3. Implement and oversee SOPs to standardize maintenance processes and maintain consistent standards.
  4. Enforce safety protocols and environmental compliance, regularly reviewing and updating SOPs to reflect best practices and legal requirements.
  5. Lead and develop a skilled maintenance team, providing training, performance feedback, and enhancing sense of urgency.
  6. Ensure the timely ordering and delivery of spare parts and consumables for physical assets.
  7. Communicate the preventive maintenance schedule to the concerned managers at the end user.
  8. Assist in budget preparation for plants and machines maintenance. Monitor expenses and implement cost-saving measures.
  9. Provide the Technical Manager with data and support for improving maintenance activities.
  10. Assess the performance of the operations and maintenance efficiency against set KPIs.
  11. Prepare and present detailed reports on maintenance, safety, and 5S implementation.
Skills
  1. Good knowledge of mechanical principles, theories, and processes
  2. Strong organizational and people management skills
  3. Fluent in English and preferably in Arabic
