Job Summary: We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Dental Nurse to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will assist dentists in providing high-quality dental care, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow in the treatment rooms, and delivering exceptional patient care. The Dental Nurse will work closely with the dental team to support a positive patient experience and contribute to the overall success of the practice. Key Responsibilities:
Patient Care:
- Prepare and comfort patients before, during, and after dental procedures.
- Explain procedures and answer patient questions to help alleviate anxiety and ensure understanding.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to data protection regulations.
Assisting with Dental Procedures:
- Assist the dentist during a variety of treatments and procedures.
- Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment before and after use.
- Ensure the treatment room is properly set up and stocked with necessary supplies.
- Monitor patient comfort and provide support throughout procedures.
Administrative Duties:
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments, manage cancellations, and handle rescheduling.
- Record and update patient information and treatment details accurately.
- Manage patient records, including electronic medical records (EMR), and ensure they are up-to-date and compliant with regulations.
Infection Control and Safety:
- Follow strict infection control procedures and protocols to ensure a sterile environment.
- Dispose of waste materials according to safety guidelines and regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the treatment area and sterilization room.
Equipment and Supplies Management:
- Monitor and manage inventory levels of dental supplies and materials.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs to the appropriate personnel.
Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with dentists and other staff to ensure efficient operation of the practice.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to practice improvement initiatives.
Professional Development:
- Stay informed about advancements in dental technology and procedures.
- Participate in training and continuing education opportunities to maintain professional skills and knowledge.
- Relevant qualifications, such as a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or certificate in dental nursing.
- Proven experience as a Dental Nurse or in a similar role preferred.
- Knowledge of dental procedures, sterilization techniques, and infection control protocols.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
