Backup/Storage Engineer (Junior role)

Job Responsibilities: Configure and administer Redundant Array of Independent Disks (RAID) storage and associated components. Configure and administer Storage Area Network (SAN) and associated components, including Fibre Channel switch administration. Configure and administer data restore and disaster recovery. Configure and administer data backup clients and servers. Maintain storage aspects of new server integrations, storage allocation, and Change Management. Setup procedures to consolidate storage of data from different platforms (i.e., Windows, UNIX, and LINUX). Troubleshoot and fix storage issues. Perform routine equipment checks and preventative maintenance. Conduct storage analysis, capacity planning, and performance planning of storage components. Document the policies and procedures to support the operational storage environment and participate in the design and ongoing refinement of procedures and policies. Prepare reports on storage administration best practices, new technologies, etc., and recommend enhancements and configuration changes to improve and optimize storage. Ensure that data is accessible and recoverable. Develop, implement, and oversee policies and procedures to ensure consistent storage provisioning, uptime, regulatory compliance, and data protection. Involve in incident management, change requests, service requests, and change requests. Period: 1-year outsourced contract. Working Hours: Mon – Fri; 8:30am – 6pm. Salary: Up to $4. Location: AMK. Requirements: Minimum a Diploma in Information Technology or equivalent. Minimum 5 years of relevant experience on backup solutions. Special Knowledge or Skills: • Past working experience in a Cloud environment is an advantage. • Able to handle demanding service response and recovery turnaround. • Able to manage daily support tasks to meet stringent SLA requirements. • Excellent scheduling and multitasking skills. • Meticulous and process-oriented. • Good, hard-working attitude with the ability to work well under pressure. • Good communication skills in English (written, spoken) to liaise with native English-speaking clients. • Good analytical skills with the ability to work with others to resolve problems. • Good organization skills, with the ability to properly document and track information. • Preferably with Microsoft Certification and/or ITIL certification. • Dynamic, customer-oriented, experience working in a fast-paced environment. • Good knowledge of the following products will be advantageous: - Microsoft Azure Stack
- Commvault Backup and Recovery
- Dell Isilon.
