Reporting to the Senior Director, Sales of Optus Wholesale & Satellite, the Account Director is a key senior leadership role responsible for managing a major customer account along with other key accounts. This role encompasses oversight of existing fixed and mobile services, as well as a significant regional Multi-Operator Core Network (MOCN) agreement. Under the MOCN agreement, Optus will provide a major customer with access to its regional radio access network and spectrum sharing capabilities. This initiative is of strategic importance, enhancing capacity, speed, and service quality while generating significant revenue and accelerating 5 G rollout efforts across regional Australia. To support this initiative, the Account Director will have direct or matrix management responsibilities to ensure the success of the end-to-end program throughout the contract term. The day to day involves Develop and maintain strong business relationships with external customers at all levels, focusing on strategic partnerships. Generate new business opportunities while managing and growing existing accounts. Lead commercial strategy to maximise Optus value while maintaining strong partnerships. Manage and interpret customer contracts to ensure alignment with business objectives. Oversee governance frameworks to support the MOCN project for both internal and external stakeholders. Maintain strong internal relationships with cross-functional teams to influence product offerings, service delivery, and commercial constructs. Operate within financial guidelines and policies while analysing data and producing executive-level reports and insights. Ensure risk management principles are applied in delivering large-scale programs. Why are you our next Sales Account Director? Extensive experience in Account Management within Telecommunications or a related industry. Proven ability in relationship management and strategic selling. Experience in structuring and negotiating agreements with wholesale service providers and telecommunications customers. Demonstrated leadership in managing large programs of work. High levels of energy, enthusiasm, and a strong drive for results. Strong sense of personal ownership and accountability. Excellent networking and relationship-building skills. Comprehensive planning and administrative capabilities. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to take ownership of complex issues. Strong team-working and leadership capabilities.
