MYP Chemistry Facilitator: Primary Responsibilities : Teaching and Learning :

• Deliver engaging and inquiry-based Design lessons aligned with the MYP framework.
• Plan, prepare, and deliver differentiated lessons that cater to a range of student abilities and learning styles.
• Integrate real-world applications into Design lessons to connect learning with the MYP Global Contexts.
• Facilitate students’ understanding of key and related concepts in Science.

• Develop unit plans that incorporate MYP Design objectives, including the four assessment criteria (A: Knowing and Understanding, B: Investigating Patterns, C: Communicating, D: Applying Design in Real-Life Contexts).
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive curriculum and interdisciplinary links with other subjects.

• Design formative and summative assessments in line with MYP assessment criteria.
• Provide timely, constructive feedback to students to enhance learning and understanding.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and prepare detailed reports for parents and school leadership.

• Provide additional support and guidance to students struggling with Design concepts.
• Foster a growth mindset by encouraging students to persevere and build resilience in problem-solving.
• Encourage students to take ownership of their learning and set personal academic goals.

• Work closely with other MYP teachers to create interdisciplinary learning experiences.
• Participate in regular department meetings, professional development opportunities, and collaborative planning sessions.
• Stay updated on the latest developments in Science education, MYP curriculum, and IB philosophy.

• Communicate with parents regarding student progress and offer strategies for supporting students’ math development at home.
• Actively contribute to school events and activities related to mathematics (e.g., math fairs, extracurricular programs).
