UI/UX Engineer - Contract

iMerit is a leading AI data solutions company providing high-quality data across computer vision, natural language processing and content services that power machine learning and artificial intelligence applications for large enterprises. iMerit’s customers are able to focus on the algorithms that drive the AI systems embedded in their products and operations, while the iMerit team of trained specialists handles all data enrichment work required to support and refine such systems. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced UI/UX Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in UI/UX design, web technologies, and front-end development, with a focus on creating complex and interactive user interfaces. This role will involve leading UI/UX efforts for our products as well as overseeing customer-facing websites and applications. Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and development of responsive web applications.
• Architect and implement complex UI/UX solutions, ensuring seamless user experience.
• Lead the design and development of user journeys across multiple products, ensuring consistency and usability.
• Communicate with stakeholders across multiple product lines to understand requirements and ensure the smoothest possible user journey.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions and design implementations.
• Create custom JavaScript solutions for interactive and complex UI components.
• Optimize web performance and ensure accessibility compliance (WCAG).
• Oversee version control and ensure best practices are followed using GitHub, GitLab, or BitBucket.

• Core Skills: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6), PHP (basic knowledge), Responsive Web Design.
• CSS Pre-processors & Methodologies: SASS, SCSS, BEM, OOCSS.
• CSS Frameworks: Bootstrap, Tachyons, Tailwind, Materialize.
• CMS & E-commerce: WordPress, WooCommerce, Shopify, Elementor, Divi, WPBakery.
• JavaScript Libraries & Frameworks: jQuery, GSAP, FabricJS, PixiJS, KonvaJS, mxGraph, ReactJS, Ionic, AngularJS, React Native.
• Graphic Tools: Figma, Sketch, Photoshop, Adobe XD, Avocode, Canva.
• Version Control: GitHub, GitLab, BitBucket.
• Other Tools: Gulp, Custom UI Components, Web Animations, Performance Optimization, Web Accessibility.

• Minimum 8+ years of experience in front-end development, with a proven track record in leading UI/UX projects.
• Experience working remotely and leading distributed teams.
• Strong portfolio showcasing previous work on complex web applications and mobile apps.
• Proven experience in developing custom JavaScript solutions and integrating third-party APIs (e.g., RazorPay).
• Expertise in designing user interfaces that are both visually appealing and highly functional.
• Strong understanding of UX principles, including user-centered design, usability testing, and creating wireframes and prototypes.
• Knowledge of design systems, accessibility standards, and best practices in web and mobile design.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions and collaborate effectively with stakeholders.
