Job Description
Technical/Professional Expertise- Lead the technical design and analysis of dam projects from conceptual to detailed stages.
- Conduct dam safety inspections and assessments.
- Provide construction support, provide quality assurance during construction and manage design teams.
- Prepare and evaluate tenders and proposals.
- Develop and maintain high standards of engineering practice.
- Establish and maintain robust client relationships.
- Understand, respond to and initiate solutions for client needs and challenges.
- Participate in business development and client feedback processes.
- Manage the financial aspects of projects.
- Ensure timely delivery of projects within budget and scope.
- Oversee project teams, ensuring compliance with company and world standards.
- Assists in the preparation of bids.
- Mentor and support the professional development of junior engineers.
- Lead by example in adherence to AECOM, SANCOLD and ICOLD core values and safety standards.
- Contribute to recruitment and training initiatives.
- Engages with clients to build and maintain relationships.
- Strong leadership, organising of work and project management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects and multidisciplinary teams.
- Demonstrate working constructively in a team.
- Proficient in relevant engineering software and Microsoft Office.
- Up-to-date with industry standards and innovations in dam engineering.

Qualifications
- Degree in Civil, Structural, or Geotechnical Engineering or related field.
Additional Information
- 8 to 12 years of relevant dam or hydropower experience, with a focus on dam engineering.
- Registration as a Professional Engineer with ECSA.
- Experience in the Approved Professional Person Team or the Approved Professional Engineer will be a bonus.
- Experience as construction supervision applying dam engineering principles will also be a bonus.
