Senior Communications Engineer (Qatar) Location: Doha, Qatar Position Role Type: Onsite At Raytheon, the foundation of everything we do is rooted in our values and a higher calling – to help our nation and allies defend freedoms and deter aggression. Raytheon’s Integrated Air & Missile Defense team is looking for a Senior Communications Engineer to join our small team to maintain integrated tactical communication equipment. What You Will Do

  1. Perform maintenance and upgrades as well as troubleshoot problems.
  2. Install and troubleshoot fielded hardware and software.
  3. Provide feedback to engineering and collaborate with offsite engineering.
  4. Work closely with customer representatives to provide status and integrate customer changes.
  5. Mentor customer personnel on system specific tasks, procedures, and troubleshooting.
Special Requirements Ability to lift, bend, and move through a normal range of motion to perform maintenance actions including lifting, holding, and maneuvering items weighing over 40 lbs. Employment is contingent upon meeting all medical requirements for overseas assignment including a comprehensive post-offer medical examination. Qualifications You Must Have
  1. Typically requires a Bachelor’s in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience.
  2. Experience working with WAN Networking, long haul links, VOIP, and data communications (Cisco CCNA a big plus).
  3. Experience with BASH, PowerShell and Windows Shell scripting.
  4. Experience/understanding of Ethernet routing and switching.
  5. Experience with Microsoft Windows system administration (Windows 10 and Windows Server).
  6. Knowledge of OSI model of network communications from physical to application layer.
  7. Familiarity with DISA cyber operations.
  8. Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
  9. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer
  1. Experience in Communication Radio and Systems: SATCOM, LOS/BLOS, and V/UHF.
  2. Experience with software development in Java, C/C++, and/or Python.
  3. Experience with NSA encryptors, KG-175D, KG-250X, KG-255XFC.
  4. Experience or familiarity with UPS systems.
