This newly created role reports to one of our Founders and is part of our second phase, moving from farm construction to operating. Your role in As It Should Be’s success will predominantly focus on the development of our staff restaurant, designed to feed up to 200 employees across different shift patterns. You will be working with our home grown produce, adapting and adjusting the menu according to what is ready for harvest. Our team live and work on site and we are firm believers in making sure our food is not only nutritious, but also varied and delicious. Our staff restaurant will be a place to socialise, relax, enjoy and have fun, so you will need to love your job and treat the space like an extremely fun restaurant with paying guests. It is indeed a staff restaurant with a difference! This role also has the opportunity to expand and grow, impacting many other aspects of our business as we diversify our product offerings and establish our brand in the market, therefore there will be great opportunities for upward mobility and career growth as the business expands. Responsibilities: As Head Chef you will oversee the day-to-day running of the kitchen and be able to manage, lead, motivate and develop the team. Our most successful Head Chef is someone who:
- Has at least 5 years experience including a fine dining background in awarded restaurants

- Lead the staff and managing all food related functions
- Work to continually improve guest and employee satisfaction
- Be responsible for guiding and developing the restaurant chefs
- Develop educational or training programs or classes, and teaches or instructs others
- Maximizes the financial performance
- Supervise all kitchen areas to ensure a consistent, high quality product is produced
- Ensure sanitation and food standards are achieved
- Be responsible for and oversee all food preparation and all support areas (e.g., dish room and purchasing)
- Review staffing levels to ensure that guest service, operational needs and financial objectives are met
