Head of Compliance for a uniquely-regulated organisation in Melbourne CBD that utilises vast amounts of highly-sensitive data to create products and services. This role entails identifying compliance gaps, implementing changes, collaborating across teams and up to the C-Suite whilst managing a small team. Client Details My client benefits from having an existing suite of products and services that run efficiently and have reliable returns. They are now in the process of utilising their swathes of data to create new products and services with the view to developing new revenue streams. In this way, they now play in the digital products and services space and are at the early stages of their transition to the cloud. They are an established firm with good investment, but also have an entrepreneurial and start-up culture. There is a job to be achieved and they are looking to hire the right people to help them achieve this goal. Description Key Responsibilities: Develop, implement, and maintain the compliance management framework. Drive business awareness of compliance obligations and provide accurate, timely advice. Foster relationships with executive leaders, operational teams, and the regulator. Collaborate across Operations, Finance, Cyber Security, and IT to ensure legislative compliance is up-to-date. Lead a team of compliance and quality specialists to monitor and enhance compliance across the organisation. Support risk management activities, deliver PCI compliance programs, and oversee insurance processes, including cyber insurance renewal. Prepare compliance reports for governance committees and promote a compliance-focused culture. Profile Experience in a compliance role within Customer Service, Insurance, Banking, or Financial Services. Strong background in risk management, regulatory compliance, and aligning with Australian regulatory standards. Proven ability to establish and maintain compliance frameworks and manage remediation actions. Leadership experience with a track record of upskilling teams and influencing stakeholders. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage and challenge senior leaders. Strategic mindset with the ability to adapt in rapidly changing environments. NICE TO HAVES: Demonstrable experience of working in firms undergoing change and transformation programmes. Big 4 or Consultancy Risk and Compliance experience preferred. Track record of managing teams. Knowledge of data-driven environments. Job Offer Benefits: Salary up to $220,000 + super 3-4 days on-site with flexibility to manage care-giver responsibilities accordingly. The time in the office is not tracked per se, but as a manager you need to be present for your team and initially the more you are in, the better so you can build relationships with your colleagues and stakeholders. Central office location - easily accessible on the city loop or 10 minute walk from Flinders.
