JOB PURPOSE: Leads corporate strategic and tactical legal initiatives for SASREF, provides senior leadership with effective legal advice on a broad range of matters, including corporate strategies and their implementations. Oversees compliance with all laws and regulations, works closely with senior leadership to pro-actively manage legal risk exposure, and is directly involved in negotiation of critical contracts and human resource matters. Oversees all litigation related matters, directs, and manages the legal team. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  1. Responsible for executing the company strategy along with senior management team; and be part of a number of the SASREF's committees.
  2. Stay updated on new and updated laws, regulations, and implement them at SASREF.
  3. Participate in the definition and development of corporate policies and procedures and provide advice on legal matters and on legal implications of all corporate governance, business and compliance matters.
  4. Oversee all major domestic and international business transactions, including commercial contracts, leases, licensing agreements, and employment-related agreements.
  5. Anticipate and identify legal issues of concern to senior management, develop legal strategies and solutions, and provide advice for strategic planning purposes.
  6. Supervise and review the drafting of all contracts, leases, agreements, and regulatory-related documents.
  7. Oversee all litigation and pre-litigation related matters and effectively advise senior management regarding such matters.
  8. Represent the company in courts/jurisdictions as required.
  9. Participate in and contribute to a number of committees as required (e.g., conflict of interest committee).
  10. Retain, manage, and evaluate outside legal counsel, where appropriate, and manage outside legal consultant budgets.
  11. Manage and motivate the team within the division and act as a champion for all company policies and procedures, particularly in the areas of human resources and health and safety.
  12. Lead, motivate, develop, and assess the assigned team to achieve business objectives and grow capability.
  13. Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the direct supervisor.

Cybersecurity: Maintain SASREF's cybersecurity by implementing security best practices. Adhere strictly to all cybersecurity requirements while dealing with SASREF's assets and data. Comply always with SASREF's information security policies. Report all suspicious emails including phishing tests. 0 Failure to the phishing campaign tests. 100% Completion of the assigned cybersecurity awareness courses. 0 Cybersecurity violation or negative behavior. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
  1. Bachelor degree in law (or equivalent).
  2. Minimum of 10 years relevant experience.
