Provide premium support for academic and student research and contribute to successful teaching and research outcomesDemonstrated experience working with library systems andBe valued for your strong customer service skillsPart-time, job shareThe Cairnmillar Institute is seeking to appoint an experienced academic librarian who is able to provide direction and expert technical services to ensure our library is meeting the needs of all stakeholders. A key deliverable within this role will be to work with a small team to manage and maintain our library management system to ensure staff and students' ongoing needs are met. The successful candidate will work effectively with our existing librarian to realise our aim.The successful candidate will have:Capability to set the overall direction and annual plans for the Library and its services within the strategic priorities of the InstituteExpertise in complex electronic information retrievalExpertise in providing instruction to staff and students in the use of advanced academic database searchingKnowledge of the scholarly use of the internet, including digital resource creationA proven ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external clientsExcellent problem-solving skills and the ability to take the initiativeThe ability to manage information services in a research-intensive higher education environmentExperience in the information and research skills programsExposure to Ex Libris ALMA/Primo though it is not mandatory.About the Cairnmillar Institute:Established over 60 years ago, The Cairnmillar Institute is a not-for-profit organisation solely focused on advancing better mental health through education, research and treatment in the field of psychology, counselling and psychotherapy.Cairnmillar is now one of the largest trainers of postgraduate psychologists and counsellors in Australia.In addition to our educational programs, we offer a range of clinical services across our four clinic sites (North Melbourne, Hawthorn East, Dandenong and CBD) as well as remote services.We pride ourselves in offering a flexible and enjoyable collegial workplace.The roleThis role offers the candidate an interesting blend of working with clients, clinicians and students.
