Atlantic Aqua Farms is a successful and growing mussel and oyster aquaculture business primarily based in Prince Edward Island, Canada. Committed to customer service and quality products for 35 years, Atlantic Aqua Farms is North America’s number one grower and processor of the widely recognized, high quality Prince Edward Island Mussels, under the brand name Canadian Cove. The company also farms some of the finest quality Prince Edward Island Oysters, with such brands as Barstool Cocktails, Sweet Island Kiss, Naked Islanders, and Chappell Creek. Atlantic Aqua Farms also has four oyster farms and two distribution centers on the US East Coast. The company continues to expand its farming and processing operations with ongoing acquisition activities in Canada and the US. Reporting to the Director of Sales & Marketing, the Senior Marketing Manager will be a key member of the Atlantic Aqua Farms commercial team. This position will have a variety of dynamic responsibilities and will be responsible for developing marketing initiatives that require branding, advertising, promotional support, and digital marketing. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Brand Strategy and Positioning:

  • Work with an Agency partner to develop and execute Atlantic Aqua Farms’ corporate branding strategy and enhance the company’s brand presence
  • Develop brand messaging and value propositions for each brand under the Atlantic Aqua Farms portfolio
  • Develop messaging around product traceability and the environmental benefits of shellfish farming
Market Research, Analysis, and Reporting:
  • Analyze market trends, consumer behavior, and competitor activities to identify opportunities and threats in the live shellfish sector
  • Monitor industry regulations and sustainability certifications to align the marketing approach with consumer preferences and regulatory standards
  • Analyze and report on the effectiveness of marketing efforts, tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) like brand awareness, customer engagement, and sales growth. Adjust tactics based on data insights and feedback from stakeholders
Product Promotion and Campaigns:
  • Lead the development and execution of multi-channel marketing campaigns to raise awareness of mussels and oysters
  • Collaborate with the sales team to ensure that marketing materials and campaigns support sales goals
Online Presence & E-Commerce Channel:
  • Build Atlantic Aqua Farms’ online presence by revitalizing the company web sites and keeping all online content relevant and current
  • Lead the development of the company’s social media strategy and work with an agency partner to execute a social media plan
  • Develop a growth plan for Atlantic Aqua Farms’ e-commerce business and manage the implementation plan through an Agency partner
Content Creation and Storytelling:
  • Develop engaging content for different platforms, highlighting the unique qualities of live shellfish, including their freshness, taste, and origin
  • Oversee the production of photography, video, and written content for digital, print, and event-based marketing
Event and Trade Show Management:
  • Plan and organize events, trade shows, and sampling events to promote live shellfish to buyers, chefs, and consumers
Budget Management:
  • Manage the marketing budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources for maximum impact
REQUIREMENTS
  • Proven marketing experience in a similar role within the food industry
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong analytical skills to assess market trends and customer needs
  • Willingness to travel for customer meetings and industry events
  • A self-starter who possesses a high energy level and positive attitude
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, marketing, or a related field
  • 5-7 years of relevant marketing experience in the food industry (preferably seafood)
  • Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to multi-task and manage changing priorities
