This is a primarily remote role in Downtown Toronto. You will be working at a growing, Toronto-based startup in the media industry. - Assess the current systems and architecture, and identify and implement areas for improvement
- Build scalable, secure, and high-quality products with a team of software developers
- Be a technical mentor for the team, and champion a collaborative work environment
- Build user facing applications using PHP, Laravel, JavaScript and AWS. If you have worked with other backend languages and frameworks, and are interested in learning this tech stack, please apply!
- You have previous experience as a software development architect and assessing how a system meets business needs
- You are adaptable, and like a startup environment
- You can work collaboratively in a team, and foster a culture of continual improvement
- You have a mix of design and coding experience
- You are primarily a backend developer, who is familiar with JavaScript
- Minimum 5 years of experience in software development
- Proven experience as a backend software developer. Previous experience with PHP and Laravel will be helpful, and is not required
- Previous experience with cloud infrastructure, and AWS in particular
- Understanding of database design and optimization
