Reporting to the Manager, Design and Production, the Designer of Production will work in collaboration with the team to prepare permit ready construction drawing packages and site plans. Responsibilities: • Utilize AutoCAD, produce customer (lot specific job) construction drawings from standard plans, based on customer selections and Lot specific grading. • Collaborate with the Design and Production Manager on value engineering and updating stock plans. • Collaborate with the Design and Production Manager on creating and maintaining CAD Standards. • Collaborate with the Construction team to produce and maintain construction details. • Assist the Product Development team in bringing concept drawings to construction drawing completion. • Produce site plans and full home construction drawing packages from stock plans for all product lines. o This includes - move-up, and occasionally estate homes. • Maintain expected timelines set out for each file in the “product development job status report”. • Ensure plans meet regulations: o Building codes o Bylaws o Community-specific Architectural Guidelines o Development permit process if required o Current specifications o External engineering requirements • Manage submission process as required. o Architectural Guidelines o Coordination with Engineering and consultants o Drawing document control and upload to our file management system o Building permits • Mentor and assist with training of less experienced design team members. • Cross training with team members and support others during absences and vacation relief. • Other tasks as directed by the Manager, Production and Design. Qualifications: • Completion of post-secondary accreditation in Architectural Technology (Diploma or Degree). • Minimum of 3-5 years of home building industry experience in a design and/or drafting role. • Efficient in software including, but not limited to, Office Suite, AutoCad and/or Revit. • Proven experience in creating accurate residential construction drawings and meeting design objectives. • Strong knowledge of residential architecture, construction and sales processes. • Passion for design with creative perspectives & ideas. • Exceptional organization and communication skills (written and verbal). • Able to work independently with little guidance. • Self-starter who is comfortable to ask questions and prides themselves on accuracy and attention to detail. - The successful candidate will receive an attractive compensation package of $55,000 - $75,000 + bonus (based on performance)
