The Role We’re looking for an experienced Bookkeeping Manager to lead our bookkeeping team. This role requires deep expertise in Xero and MYOB, particularly in New Zealand and Australian business environments, and the ability to manage a remote team effectively. You’ll oversee workflow, ensure quality control, and support our team and clients. Key Responsibilities * Oversee the delivery of bookkeeping services to multiple clients in a managed services model. * Manage and support a remote global team of bookkeepers, ensuring high performance and adherence to best practices. * Provide in-depth expertise in Xero and MYOB, including payroll, reporting, and compliance requirements specific to New Zealand and Australia. * Maintain quality control over financial data and reporting. * Ensure accurate and timely reconciliations, accounts payable/receivable management, and GST processing. * Act as an escalation point for complex client queries and bookkeeping challenges. * Assist with training and development of bookkeeping staff. * Keep up to date with industry trends, software advancements, and best practices to enhance efficiency and service delivery. What You’ll Bring * 5+ years of bookkeeping experience in a managed services environment, handling multiple clients simultaneously. * Extensive knowledge of Xero and MYOB, particularly in a New Zealand and Australian business context. * Business Degree (or similar), preferably in accounting or finance. * Membership with either the Institute of Certified NZ Bookkeepers or the NZ Qualified Bookkeepers Assocation in NZ. * Proven experience managing remote teams, providing guidance and quality oversight. * Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy across high-volume workloads. * Effective problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve complex bookkeeping issues. * A commitment to maintaining high standards in financial management and compliance. Additional Information * This is a remote, work from home role. * Applicants must have the right to work in New Zealand. * Priority will be given to applicants with experience working in a large bookkeeping agency.
