Senior Design Manager

Job Title: Senior Design Manager – Residential / Commercial Projects Location: Bangalore Job Type: [Full-time] Job Summary: We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Design Manager with expertise in residential architecture and proficiency in AutoCAD . As a Senior Design Manager, you will oversee the design process for high-quality residential projects, from concept through to construction documentation. You will lead a team of architects and designers, ensuring that each project is delivered to the highest standards of design excellence, functionality, and efficiency. Your ability to manage the design process, coordinate with clients, contractors, and consultants, and produce precise, high-quality design documentation will be key to the successful delivery of our residential/Commercial projects. Key Responsibilities:

• Design Leadership:
• Lead the design process for residential projects, ensuring the design vision is realized while adhering to client requirements, timelines, and budget.
• Develop innovative, functional, and aesthetically appealing residential designs that align with project goals and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee the preparation of concept designs, schematic layouts, detailed architectural drawings, and other design deliverables, ensuring they meet client expectations.
• Project Coordination:
• Coordinate and collaborate with internal project teams, including architects, engineers, interior designers, and other consultants, to ensure seamless integration of design and technical requirements.
• Manage the preparation of comprehensive design documentation (AutoCAD drawings, specifications, etc.) and ensure it is accurate, complete, and aligned with the project's scope.
• Client Interaction & Relationship Management:
• Maintain strong, ongoing communication with clients, ensuring that their design objectives are met throughout the project lifecycle.
• Lead client meetings, presentations, and design reviews, effectively communicating design concepts and progress while addressing any feedback or concerns.
• Team Leadership & Mentoring:
• Manage and mentor a team of designers, providing guidance and support to junior and intermediate staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
• Ensure that all design team members are working in alignment with the overall project goals and deadlines.
• Technical Expertise & AutoCAD Mastery:
• Utilize AutoCAD to produce high-quality architectural drawings, including plans, elevations, sections, and details for residential projects.
• Oversee the technical quality of AutoCAD drawings produced by the design team, ensuring compliance with building codes, regulations, and design standards.
• Ensure all drawings are accurate, clear, and free from errors before submitting them to clients or contractors.
• Scheduling & Budget Management:
• Monitor and manage project timelines to ensure that design milestones and deadlines are met.
• Work closely with project managers to track the project’s progress and ensure it stays within budget, offering solutions when project scope changes or challenges arise.
• Construction Coordination:
• Support the construction phase by providing necessary design clarifications, issuing updated drawings, and resolving any design-related issues that arise during construction.
• Collaborate with contractors to ensure the design is implemented as intended and address any on-site challenges that may affect the project’s design.
• Documentation & Reporting:
• Maintain thorough documentation of design decisions, client approvals, and project revisions throughout the project lifecycle.
• Prepare and present regular design progress reports to senior management, stakeholders, and clients.

• Education:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture ( BArch ) or related field.
• A Master’s degree in Architecture or a relevant specialization is a plus.
• Experience:
• Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in architecture, with at least 8 years focused on managing residential design projects.
• Proven experience in leading the design process for residential projects, including single-family homes, multi-family units, apartments, or mixed-use developments.
• Technical Skills:
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD for creating detailed architectural drawings, including floor plans, elevations, sections, and construction details.
• Familiarity with other design software such as Revit , SketchUp , or 3D rendering tools (e.g., Lumion , V-Ray ) is a plus.
• Strong understanding of residential design standards, building codes, and construction processes.
• Knowledge of sustainable design principles and energy-efficient building practices.
• Leadership & Management:
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and inspire a design team, fostering a collaborative and creative environment.
• Experience in managing project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful project delivery.
• Ability to oversee multiple residential projects concurrently, ensuring efficient resource allocation and timely delivery.
• Communication Skills:
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex design ideas and concepts to clients, consultants, and contractors.
• Strong presentation skills for leading client meetings and design reviews.
• Problem-Solving:
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify challenges early and provide practical solutions to ensure design continuity and project success.
• Ability to adapt designs based on client feedback and unforeseen site conditions without compromising quality.

• Certifications:
• LEED accreditation or other sustainability certifications.
• Relevant professional certifications (e.g., RIBA, AIA) are a plus.
• Industry Knowledge:
• Strong understanding of the residential real estate market and trends in residential design, including sustainable living and smart home technology.
