Role Overview: We are seeking an experienced and passionate Manager - Instructional Design to join our learning design team. As an individual contributor, you will be responsible for designing and developing engaging, learner-centric content tailored to adult professionals in a variety of industries. This role requires a deep understanding of instructional design principles, adult learning theories, and a proven ability to craft impactful e-learning and blended learning experiences. Key Responsibilities: Instructional Design & Content Development:
- Design and develop high-quality learning solutions, including e-learning modules, instructor-led training (ILT) materials, and blended learning programs.
- Apply adult learning theories to create engaging and outcome-driven learning experiences.
- Use innovative instructional strategies, including scenario-based learning, gamification, and microlearning.
- Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to identify learning objectives and define course requirements.
- Conduct audience and task analyses to inform design decisions.
- Develop detailed course outlines and instructional strategies aligned with business and learner needs.
- Ensure all content adheres to Simplilearn’s quality standards and aligns with best practices in instructional design.
- Review and refine course materials to enhance clarity, engagement, and learner retention.
- Incorporate feedback from stakeholders to continuously improve content.
- Develop interactive learning experiences using tools like Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, or other e-learning authoring tools.
- Leverage LMS (Learning Management Systems) capabilities to manage and deliver content effectively.
- Stay updated on emerging learning technologies and trends in adult education.
- Manage multiple instructional design projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery within scope and budget.
- Maintain clear communication with cross-functional teams, including SMEs, developers, and stakeholders.
- Use data-driven insights to assess the effectiveness of learning programs.
- Apply models such as Kirkpatrick’s Evaluation Model to measure learning outcomes and ROI.
- Recommend and implement enhancements based on feedback and analytics.
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Instructional Design, Learning & Development, Education Technology, or a related field.
- Experience:
- 5+ years of proven experience in instructional design, preferably in the IT consulting or adult learning or EdTech industry.
- Demonstrated expertise in designing e-learning, ILT, and blended learning solutions.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in e-learning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, Camtasia).
- Familiarity with LMS platforms and SCORM/AICC compliance.
- Strong grasp of graphic design and multimedia principles.
- Soft Skills:
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Experience in adaptive learning design.
- Knowledge of coding languages (e.g., HTML5, JavaScript) for e-learning customization.
- Certification in instructional design or related fields (e.g., CPLP, CIDD).
