As our position in the market evolves, we’re looking for a Research Associate – Trends & Futures Team to manage a wide range of initiatives across the full project lifecycle from proposal to report delivery. Reporting directly to the Director –NRG; NRG is a leading global insights and strategy firm at the confluence of content, culture, and technology. Together, we create with confidence REPORTS TO Delivery Lead (Matrix-line) & Director, Assembly Global Delivery • Assist the team with quality control processes throughout the quantitative research lifecycle, including tasks such as:

  1. Perform data quality checks using CMIX o Search for bad cases, including using and monitoring Data Robot, our machine learning model
  2. Test programmed survey links for formatting and accuracy compared to the final questionnaire, logic, and research objectives
  3. Review open end responses for quality issues
  4. Proof reports/presentations in PowerPoint or Google Slides for accuracy
• Populate templated PowerPoint and Google Slides presentations using files provided by our Data Processing team or our online survey portals • Retrieve survey data from our online portals, merge Excel files into final deliverables, and upload for onshore Analysts to review • Support the survey data online portal development processes – as changes are made to the portals, help to verify changes were made accurately • Contribute to strategic product improvement initiatives, i.e., revising genre database, organizing data for norms creation, maintaining data for audience segments, etc. Primary Responsibilities : The Expertise We Value • Curiosity and Critical Thinking – You are genuinely interested in seeking information on the “whys,” always digging for more information to understand what makes consumers tick. Experience visualizing data with tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, Google Docs and Slides is preferred. To perform this role successfully, candidates must be proficient in the following software, categorized by type, as they will be integral to daily operations: • Office Productivity Tools: Microsoft Office 365 / SharePoint, Apple Workspace Suite, Google Drive/GSuite; • Communication Tools: Microsoft Teams, Zoom; • Project Management Tools: Asana, Monday.com; • Market Research Tools: Decipher (Forsta Surveys), Remesh; • AI Tools: ChatGPT, Tactiq.   • Ideally looking – You have a B.A./B.S. degree in areas such as Social Sciences, Psychology, Business, Marketing, Market Research, Statistics, Economics or a related field. Additional degrees are welcome!
  • Essentials:
❖ . We’d love for you to have 2-4 years of experience working in consumer insights, consumer research or in an analyst/ strategy role at an entertainment/ media/ technology company ❖ Self-starter – Internally-motivated who continuously strives to get things done well, regardless of challenges encountered. You are proactive and always keep an eye on the next step. ❖ Clear and Proactive Communicator – You have excellent written and verbal communication skills and are able to communicate clearly and succinctly. You’re comfortable asking questions and sharing your point of view. ❖ Hawk-eyed attention to detail – You notice when font sizes change unexpectedly, or a proper noun isn’t capitalized. Errors don’t get past you and you are always focused on ensuring high levels of quality control and reporting. Bonus Attributes: ❖ Passion – A passion or desire to learn about technology, entertainment, sports and/or lifestyle sectors. You enjoy or are excited by the prospect of staying up to date on industry trends and developments. ❖ Prior Experience – Prior internship or work experience in market research or consumer insights is a plus, but not required. If you don’t have relevant work experience, we would love to hear about academic qualitative or quantitative research projects, such as primary survey research, experimental psychology studies, social media analysis, ethnographic research, or any other relevant projects. ❖ Data analysis techniques and software – Familiarity with any of the following data analysis techniques would be awesome: statistical significance testing, correlation analysis, multivariate analysis techniques (such as cluster/segmentation analysis) and conjoint and discrete choice analysis. Experience with statistical packages, like SPSS or Q, are a plus ❖ Expert multitasker – Successfully manages time and multiple competing priorities to ensure deadlines are always met. Staying organized is a must for managing projects! ❖ Team Oriented – Team player who works collaboratively and harmoniously within a team and across teams. You are comfortable forming connections with colleagues remotely whether that be jumping on a quick video meeting, picking up the phone for a call or chatting with them through IMs. You welcome feedback because you have a zest for learning and growing. You will roll up your sleeves to help get the job done and no task is beneath you.
