Network Engineer

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Network Engineer with expertise in LAN (Local Area Network) and WAN (Wide Area Network) technologies. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, deploying, monitoring, and supporting network infrastructure for the organization. This role requires hands-on experience with configuring network devices, troubleshooting network issues, and ensuring the network operates efficiently and securely. Key Responsibilities:

1. Network Design & Architecture :

• Design, implement, and maintain LAN and WAN infrastructures for both on premise and remote locations.
• Perform capacity planning, network optimization, and performance tuning.
• Evaluate and recommend network technologies, hardware, and software solutions based on the organization’s needs.

1. Configuration & Installation :

• Configure and install network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and other essential networking equipment.
• Set up network devices, including IP addresses, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), and VLANs for effective communication across the LAN/WAN.

1. Monitoring & Maintenance :

• Monitor network performance and traffic using tools such as Solar Winds, PRTG, or other monitoring software.
• Troubleshoot network outages and resolve hardware and software issues that affect the performance and stability of the LAN/WAN.
• Perform routine network maintenance tasks, including firmware updates and patch management.

1. Security & Compliance :

• Implement and manage network security policies to safeguard sensitive data and prevent unauthorized access.
• Configure firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS).
• Ensure compliance with industry security standards and best practices.

1. Technical Support & Troubleshooting :

• Provide tier-2/3 technical support for network-related issues.
• Diagnose and resolve network problems such as connectivity issues, latency, and packet loss.
• Manage and resolve issues related to DNS, DHCP, VPN, and network routing
• Collaboration :
• Work with IT teams to integrate network systems with enterprise applications and other IT infrastructures.
• Collaborate with vendors, consultants, and third-party service providers for network solutions, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
• Documentation & Reporting :
• Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, diagrams, and troubleshooting procedures.
• Prepare reports on network performance, incidents, and resolutions for management.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Networking, or a related field.
• 7-16 years of hands-on experience in managing and supporting LAN/WAN networks.
• Proficiency in network protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, OSPF, BGP, and VLAN.
• Strong experience with network devices such as Cisco, Juniper, or similar routers and switches.
• Knowledge of network monitoring tools and software (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios).
• Familiarity with network security principles, firewalls, VPNs, and encryption technologies.
• Certification such as Cisco CCNA/CCNP, CompTIA Network+, or similar is preferred.
