Imaging Systems Manager The Mater Private Network is seeking a highly motivated Imaging Systems Manager to join our team on a permanent, full time contract. The Imaging Systems Manager plays a critical role in managing and optimizing imaging workflows within healthcare systems. Their competencies typically span technical skills, clinical knowledge, and data management expertise. Here's a detailed breakdown of core competencies: Technical Competencies EHR Systems Knowledge: Proficiency in EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Meditech) with a focus on imaging modules. Imaging Archives such as PACS, CVIS/ISCV: Experience with imaging archive software such as PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System typically radiology) or Cardiology PACS (CVIS/ISCV) and their integration with EHR systems. Interoperability Standards: Understanding and experience of core interoperability standards that relate to medical imaging such as DICOM (Digital Imaging and Communications in Meditecine) and HL7 (Health Level 7) RIS (Radiology Information System): Familiarity with RIS platforms and how they interface with EHR systems. Data Migration & Integration: Ability to oversee imaging data transfer, integrity checks, and seamless EHR-PACS integration. System Configuration & Customization: Configuring imaging workflows and templates within the EHR. Clinical & Imaging Knowledge Imaging Department Workflow: Understanding of imaging processes, including ordering, protocolling, scheduling, registration, image acquisition, reporting, and result distribution. Modality Familiarity: Basic knowledge of imaging modalities across imaging specialties such as radiology, cardiology, vascular laboratory etc Clinical Documentation: Ensuring imaging reports and clinical notes adhere to healthcare standards and best practices. Data & Quality Management Data Accuracy & Integrity: Ensuring accurate image capture, storage, and retrieval processes. Quality Assurance (QA): Knowledge of QA processes related to imaging and documentation Compliance Standards: Familiarity with HIPAA, GDPR, and other regulations governing imaging data privacy and security. Data Analysis: Ability to analyze imaging department data for quality improvement and operational efficiency. Workflow Optimization & Support Workflow Analysis: Identifying inefficiencies in imaging workflows and suggesting improvements. Change Management: Assisting with the rollout of new imaging technologies and EHR upgrades. User Support & Training: Providing training and troubleshooting for clinicians and radiology staff using EHR and imaging systems. Security & Compliance Data Security Practices: Implementing and maintaining secure imaging data access. Audit & Monitoring: Regularly auditing imaging workflows to ensure compliance with internal and external standards. Preferred Qualifications: Minimum level 8 NFQ qualification in an imaging specialty (eg radiography, clinical physiology) Level 9 NFQ qualification in healthcare informatics, healthcare management or project management desirable Previous experience with EHR implementations or go-live support.
