Job Summary Perform various duties ensuring all electrical systems and equipment are functioning correctly, safely, and efficiently. Make sure a comfortable and safe working environment for our internal and external guests. Orderly and timely completion of work orders received by Knowcross and perform various work orders involved in maintaining preventive maintenance. Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Maintain complete knowledge and comply with all departmental policies, service procedures, and standards.
- Ensure tag-out and lock-out procedures are followed when working on electrically powered equipment.
- Ensure the use of all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while on duty.
- Isolate defects in wiring, switches, motors, and other electrical equipment using testing instruments such as ammeter, ohmmeter, voltmeter, testing lamps, etc.
- Regular inspection of electrical systems to minimize disruptions and unexpected breakdowns.
- Be prepared to respond quickly to any electrical emergencies.
- Maintain adequate proper lighting systems in all areas.
- Keep and maintain all the electrical distribution panels and circuit breakers.
- Inspect and upkeep low voltage electrical distribution rooms and associated equipment.
- Inspect, maintain, and test circuit breakers to ensure they function correctly and protect against overloads and short circuits.
- Inspect equipment, lighting, signal, communication, and power circuits.
- Report any unusual findings or electrical safety hazards immediately to the Director or Assistant Director of Engineering.
- Check with duty engineer/supervisor for priority jobs and follow up on the logbook.
- Communicate with the Supervisor and Duty Engineer if maintenance takes longer than expected.
- Ensure communication devices are updated after completing jobs.
- Respond promptly to Knowcross service orders made for requests, assistance, or emergency work orders.
- Maintain the operations log and keep reading records manually and in the system.
- Keep the premises clean and tidy after completing jobs.
- Communicate daily work progress with Duty engineer/supervisor before ending the shift.
- Ensure logging in the logbook before ending the shift.
- Follow all departmental procedures and instructions.
- Adhere to hotel policy and procedures while entering guest rooms for repairs.
- Maintain safety procedures/conditions in the working area and associated areas.
- Understand and practice hotel emergency fire precaution procedures.
- Work as a team to achieve engineering departmental goals.
- Ensure all electrical rooms, workshop areas, and equipment are clean and in good working condition.
- Maintain and repair all guestrooms and public areas in accordance with the Perfect Room Program (PRP) procedures and standards guidelines.
- Report all incidents and work-related injuries to the concerned department and DOE.
- Attend all training arranged by the Hygiene, Health & Safety Manager.
- Monitor Knowcross application and respond promptly to escalated requests.
- Comply and adhere to Rosewood company policies.
- Take on other tasks in addition to those stated, within a reasonable framework.
- Act as a “brand ambassador” and ensure brand integrity and clarity are maintained.
- Model the company’s culture, vision, mission, and core values.
- Take a proactive approach to management of the department.
- Be aware of all existing departmental Job Safety Analysis and Risk assessments.
- Comply with safe working practices as laid down under Health and Safety rules and regulations.
- Wear appropriate protective clothing provided by or recommended by the Company.
- Report any defects in the building, plant, or equipment according to hotel procedures.
- Ensure that any accidents to associates, guests, or visitors are reported immediately.
- Attend Statutory Fire, Health & Safety training and abide by all rules concerning Fire, Health & Safety.
