We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Manager to join our dynamic team in the architecture and design industry. Key Responsibility (Performance Objective): With at least 5 years of experience in Business Development, the ideal candidate will have a proven track record of driving growth and fostering long-term relationships with clients in the office and industrial building sectors. This individual will lead a small team of business development professionals and will be responsible for creating and executing strategic plans to expand the company’s client base and increase project opportunities. A strong communicator with the ability to engage senior leadership and C-level executives is a must. Responsibilities and Duties:
- Lead, manage, and mentor a team of business development professionals, providing guidance, support, and fostering a collaborative environment to achieve targets and drive success.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with key clients, ensuring that their needs are met and that the company remains a trusted partner. This includes both office space and industrial building sectors.
- Develop and execute strategic business development plans, identifying new opportunities in the market. Lead efforts to target key clients, present proposals, and close deals.
- Prepare and deliver persuasive virtual presentations to potential clients, senior leadership teams, and C-level executives, highlighting the company’s expertise in office space design and industrial projects.
- Actively network with industry professionals, attend conferences, and build a strong presence within the architecture and design community in the Greater Toronto Area. Leverage existing relationships to expand business opportunities.
- Drive the sales cycle for large-scale office and industrial building projects, collaborating with design, engineering, and project management teams to ensure client expectations are met.
- Collaboration with Senior Leadership: Work closely with senior management to communicate business development goals, progress, and strategies. Provide insights into market trends and competitor activities.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends, competitor activities, and market demands to inform business strategies. Regularly report progress and results to senior leadership.
- Maintain accurate records of client interactions, sales activities, and pipeline management using our CRM software.
- Access our ERP project management system as required
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development, preferably within the architecture, design, or construction industry.
- Proven experience managing and leading a team of business development professionals.
- Ability to engage with senior leadership and C-level executives, articulating business opportunities and presenting tailored solutions.
- Strong experience in selling both office space and industrial building projects.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to make high-level presentations to internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong negotiation, networking, and relationship-building skills.
- Knowledge of the architecture and design industry, with a clear understanding of market trends and client needs.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency with business development tools, CRM software, and virtual meeting platforms (e.g., Teams, Zoom).
- A strong network of contacts within the Greater Toronto Area is an asset.
- Proficiency in using CRM software and other sales productivity tools.
- Ability to travel as needed to meet with clients.
- Valid Ontario driver’s licence.
